Sanatkada, a weaves & crafts store, in Qaiser Bagh, Lucknow, brings weaves & handicrafts from across the country directly from crafts persons. The store is run by a group of dynamic young women from local marginalized communities.
Sanatkada ka Adda - Sadbhavana Trust
Sanatkada ka Adda is a platform that promotes composite cultural activities in the city. Film screenings (Filmistan), musical baithaks, talks, book reading sessions, and celebrations of our composite culture, with Roza Iftar, Diwali & Christmas get togethers. The Adda also organizes book club for children. Restoring of Begum Akhtar's Mazaar & marking her death anniversary with hazri by eminent artists like Shruti Sadolikar, Shubha Mudgaland & Omkar Dadarkar has also become an annual feature.
Sanatkada Samajik Pahel - Sadbhavana Trust
Sanatkada conducts innovative leadership building programs for the empowerment of marginalized young Muslim women from urban slums. We follow a three pronged strategy involving perspective development, information and skills. Our Muslim Women's Video Unit makes short films on order & profile people their mohallas. They also run 'Mohalla Filmistan' & a Blog. The information centre gives women information on their citizenship rights. Our legal branch works with incarcerated women, empowering them & enabling them to access legal representation & develop skills.
